The brother of Andrew McFarlane has appealed to thieves who broke into his shop in Capalaba (Australia) 19 August 2010 and stole the motorcycle of Andrew McFarlane.
The KTM 450SFX 2010, by Cameron McFarlane estimated between 15,000 and $ 18,000 dollars, was the centerpiece of a shrine to the former champion.
Andrew McFarlane was killed in an accident in May during the third round of the championship motocross national Broadford. His death had hit the motocross world community.
Cameron McFarlane said that the stolen motorcycle was on display in tribute to his brother and was not for sale. « It was his motorcycle racing » he said. « This is a bike that we wanted to keep, and unfortunately it is no longer »
Mr McFarlane said the thieves broke into the store around 1:45, breaking windows and locks the door.
Mr. McFarlane made a call to thieves to return the bike and said they could leave the front of the store, no questions asked. « All we want is the bike » he said.
A spokesman said the police investigation continues.
